Adorable Adoptable Pets Of The Week In Howard County

HOWARD COUNTY, MD — Meet Patch's Adorable Adoptable Pet of the Week available from the Howard County Animal Control and Adoption Center. One-year-old Cookie happens to be a female Presa Canario who weighs 60 pounds. She loves her people and will listen well if her own is firm and consistent with training. She will try and melt your heart with her sad eyes when wants to do something different than what you're asking her to do. It's best if Cookie's next owner has some experience with the Presa breed or a similar breed.

The shelter describes her as a funny character who can grow nervous in certain situations and when meeting new people. She will need someone who can understand how to read dog behavior and help her with people skills. She is boisterous and would do wonderfully with a fenced-in yard for exercise. She loves to play and has interacted well with male dogs.

Due to breed restrictions by landlords and rental properties, it is best if you own your home in order to adopt her. She would also do best in an adult home or a home with older children that can be a part of recognizing her behavior, the shelter noted.
