Air Quality Alert Issued For Baltimore Metro Area

BALTIMORE, MD — Certain people should avoid strenuous exercise and outdoor activities Tuesday due to the air quality, according to the Maryland Department of the Environment.

Environmental officials have issued a code orange air quality alert for the Baltimore metropolitan area on Tuesday, April 11, including Anne Arundel, Baltimore, Carroll, Harford and Howard counties.

A code orange air quality alert means that air pollution concentrations may become unhealthy for sensitive groups such as children, asthmatics, older adults and those with lung or heart diseases.

To avoid any adverse effects, those with sensitivity to air pollution should avoid strenuous activities and outdoor exercise.
