MARRIOTTSVILLE, MD — A 24-year-old Hampstead man has died after police say he hit an SUV Saturday night.
At approximately 6:30 p.m. Saturday, a 2014 Yamaha FZ09 motorcycle was heading northbound on Marriottsville Road near Warwick Way when a 2023 Nissan Rogue traveling southbound attempted to make a left turn onto Warwick Way in the path of the motorcycle. The motorcycle hit the Nissan, according to Howard County Police.
The man was taken to R Adams Cowley Shock Trauma Center where he died as a result of his injuries. The preliminary investigation suggests the motorcycle was traveling at a high rate of speed, the police department stated. The motorcyclist was identified Monday by police as Donald Charles Ebaugh, 24, of Hampstead.
The driver of the Nissan was uninjured, remained at the scene and is cooperating with the investigation, which is ongoing.
Marriottsville Road was closed for approximately three hours.
