COLUMBIA, MD — For the past several weeks, customers have flocked to the first Uncharted store to open in Maryland.
The Columbia location held its soft opening March 21 followed by a grand opening celebration April 11. Customers have submersed themselves in the offerings at Uncharted, which range form fashion and beauty to home decor, jewelry and more, Uncharted CEO Tom Anderson told Patch.
Some of the brands Uncharted carries include:
Customers of Uncharted tend to be "style-conscious, socially engaged women who value unique, artisanal products at an accessible price point, and anyone who is drawn to discovery, local culture, and 'small joys' lifestyle experiences, Anderson told Patch.
Uncharted not only offers its customers a fresh and high-energy approach to retail with the hottest items and the latest trends, Uncharted places an emphasis on community by hosting in-store experiences, special events and more. The store boasts 8,522 square feet, plenty of room for a group of shoppers to gather.
"From grand opening celebrations to ongoing activations, Uncharted creates an environment where guests can connect, explore and be inspired," Anderson told Patch. "We have fun activations and personalization opportunities all year round, but an exciting upcoming opportunity is our in-store Mom Wants Me Time Giveaway. Customers can scan a QR code to enter for the chance to win a $500 hotel gift card and Strawflower Duffle filled with spa essentials from all her favorite brands."
Uncharted can be found at 6181 Old Dobbin Lane. It's open weekdays from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m., Saturdays from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. and Sundays from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.
Uncharted is part of The Paper Store Group, a family-founded retailer now with more than 100 stores across the Northeast, Florida, Illinois and Maryland. The Paper Store, it's legacy brand, was founded in 1964 as a small newsstand in Maynard, Massachusetts, by Bob Anderson, and to this day is still owned and led by the Anderson family, now a third-generation business helmed by Anderson.
