HOWARD COUNTY, MD — A man attempted to rob the Panera Bread on Dobbin Road in Columbia Sunday morning, police report.
The incident happened around 9:40 a.m. at the Panera Bread located in the 6400 block of Dobbin Road. A store employee told Howard County police officers that a man approached the cashier, pulled out a knife and demanded cash. But the suspect then took off without stealing anything, according to police.
Howard County police officers were able to find the suspect, identified as Christopher Lambert, 58, of Columbia, and arrest him. He's been charged with armed robbery, robbery and assault.
In related news, someone broke into the Bumble Auto Sunday around 4:50 a.m. The business is located in the 3200 block of Bethany Lane in Ellicott City. The suspect broke the front glass door to gain access to the business, but nothing was reported stolen, according to the police department.
Sometime over the weekend between May 1 and May 4, a suspect broke into a portal classroom at Elkridge Elementary School, which is located in the 7000 block of Montgomery Road. The suspect broke a window and stole a speaker, according to police.
