Crews were at the scene for around three hours and were joined by Park Police and a veterinary team to help safely free the horse from the bridge.
Initially, Montgomery County firefighters and paramedics were looking for an injured person who had called for help around 1:40 p.m., but stumbled upon the stuck horse.
The horse's leg had fallen through a wooden pedestrian bridge and it has become stuck. Veterinarians sedated the horse and by 4:10 p.m., crews were able to lift the horse up out of the bridge.
According to reports, the horse's leg wasn't broken but it didn't sustain soft tissue damage.
