Ice Cream, Concerts, Crafts, Face Painting At Series Of Special Events

COLUMBIA, MD — Residents can enjoy more than a dozen community events across Columbia Village Centers this summer and fall.

Columbia Village Centers is hosting the seasonal events across six properties: Dorsey's Search Village Center, Kings Contrivance, River Hill Village Center, The Shoppes at Wilde Lake, Harpers Choice and Hickory Ridge.

Now through September, the event lineup features a mix of family-friendly experiences, live music performances, a fall festival and more.

“We’re excited to bring this lively lineup of events to the Columbia/Ellicott City area and create spaces where neighbors can come together all summer long,” John Pezzulla, Kimco Realty’s regional vice president of property management, told Patch. “With free, family-friendly fun, live music and activities across the iconic Village Centers, we hope residents will join us and enjoy time in their community.”

Hickory Ridge Village Center

Each event will take place from 5:30 to 8:30 p.m.

• June 12 - Ice cream social featuring live music, kids’ crafts, a caricature artist and a stilt walker. Free ice cream while supplies last.
• July 10 - Yacht Rock Night featuring live music, kids’ crafts, a caricature artist and a stilt walker.
• Aug. 14 - Summer Vibes featuring live reggae music and a Hoops & Stage Show.

River Hill Village Center

Each event will take place from 5:30 to 8:30 p.m.

• June 15 - Ice cream social featuring live music, kids’ crafts, a Hoops & Stage Show and free ice cream while supplies last.
• July 3 - Liberty & Lemonade featuring live music, kids’ crafts, a Hoops and Stage Show and a lemonade stand while supplies last.
• Aug. 7 - We Love the 80s featuring live 80s music, kids’ crafts, 80s swag, a stilt walker and treats while supplies last.

King’s Contrivance Village Center

Each event will take place from 4 to 7 p.m.

• June 14 - 40th Anniversary Celebration featuring live music, kids’ crafts and treats while supplies last.
• July 12 - Crafts & Chords featuring live music and kids’ crafts.
• Aug. 9 - Summer Fun acoustic music and crafts.

Harpers Choice Village Center

Each event will take place from 4 to 7 p.m.

• June 7 - Ice cream social featuring live music, kids’ crafts and free ice cream while supplies last.
• July 5 - Liberty & Lemonade featuring live music, kids’ crafts and a lemonade stand while supplies last.
• Aug. 2- 50th Anniversary Celebration featuring live music, kids’ crafts and treats while supplies last.

The Shoppes at Wilde Lake

Each event will take place from 5:30 to 8:30 p.m.

• June 18 - Crafts & Chords featuring live acoustic music, kids’ crafts, and treats while supplies last.

Dorsey’s Search Village Center

Each event will take place from 5:30 to 8:30 p.m.

• June 19 - Ice cream social featuring live music, kids’ crafts and free ice cream while supplies last.
• July 17 - Totally 90s featuring live 90s music, kids’ crafts and 90s swag.
• Aug. 21 - Summer Vibes featuring live Latin music, salsa dancing and kids’ crafts.

• Sept. 26 - Fall Festival featuring Bluegrass music, pumpkins, fall photos, seasonal treats, face painting and festive crafts. *Rain date Sept. 27
