• Where to find July 4th fireworks in the Baltimore area (wbaltv.com) — Columbia residents can head to the Lakefront on July 4 for an evening of food trucks, live music, and a 9:15 p.m. fireworks show, with a rain date on July 5. The broader guide also lists many other fireworks and parade options around the Baltimore region if you’re traveling for the holiday.    

• Jayden Deleon upsets Quincy Wilson for US U20 400m title, rematch set for Sunday in Philladelphia (letsrun.com) — Columbia’s Oakland Mills High School standout Jayden Deleon just ran 44.52 to win the US U20 400m title, becoming the second-fastest high schooler ever and edging Olympic champion Quincy Wilson. Both DC-area sprinters now head to the World U20 Championships and a rematch at New Balance Nationals in Philadelphia, with streaming options available for fans.    

• When the Blues Brothers' ‘Bluesmobile' Got Pulled Over (bestclassicbands.com) — A former Atlantic Records promoter recalls driving the beat-up Bluesmobile from New York to Columbia, Md., for a Blues Brothers show at Merriweather Post Pavilion. His misadventures on I-95, including a tense stop with Maryland state troopers, end with a lucky break from a Blues Brothers–loving officer.
