HOWARD COUNTY, MD — For the past 10 years, a Howard County resident has played the lottery every week. Recently, he won $2.2 million playing the Fast Play Ultimate Payday.
The Howard County resident told lottery officials his favorite games include Fast Play and draw games such as Pick 4. A few years ago, he won $50,000.
"I felt on top of the world," the winner told lottery officials.
The winner bought his ticket at the Exxon located at 6037 Baltimore National Pike in Catonsville on his way home one day. After scanning his ticket, the screen displayed a message telling him to "see lottery." As a previous winner, he knew that message could mean he had won a substantial prize. So he quickly called his wife to share the news, and they celebrated when he arrived home, he told lottery officials.
The winner said the couple plans to be responsible with their newfound fortune and save for their upcoming retirement.
The lucky retailer will receive a $1,000 bonus from the Maryland Lottery for selling the winning ticket.
