Fatal Crash Investigated In Elkridge

ELKRIDGE, MD — Howard County detectives are investigating a fatal collision that happened Tuesday in Elkridge.

At approximately 8:51 p.m., a 2004 Honda Accord was traveling south on Washington Boulevard (Route 1) approaching Troy Hill Drive when it crossed into oncoming traffic and hit a 2017 Volvo semi truck head-on, according to police.

The adult male driver and only person in the Honda was taken to Saint Agnes Hospital where he was pronounced dead. The driver of the Volvo was uninjured.

Washington Boulevard in the area of Troy Hill Drive was closed for approximately 3.5 hours.

Detectives continue to investigate the collision.
