New Peapod by Giant Pick-Up Service available in Columbia

Peapod by Giant recently launched a new service at two neighborhood Giant stores in Maryland - Columbia & Clarksville. Shoppers can now order their groceries online through Peapod.com for easy pick-up at the Hickory Ridge Giant Food located at 6480 Freetown Road in Columbia.

In an effort to give back to the community, Peapod made a $500 donation in food and household items to the Howard County Food Bank, which was one of the first offical pick-ups. 

“Giant was one of the first supermarket chains in the nation to offer grocery delivery in 2000 through our sister company, Peapod,” said Anthony Hucker, president, Giant Landover of Landover, Md. “Peapod Pick-up is a great complement to the delivery service and allows us to leverage our convenient store locations to provide another online shopping option for our customers. This is just another way Giant is living up to our promise to be a better place to shop, and we look forward to expanding to additional locations in the coming year."

The service is free, and there is no minimum purchase. Shoppers can choose a convenient one-hour pick-up time between 8 a.m. and 7 p.m. Sunday through Friday, and 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Saturdays.
