SECU's Columbia Branch Gets a New Home

SECU – Maryland’s largest credit union – is moving its Columbia branch to a brand new location.

Beginning February 7, SECU’s Columbia Branch is located at 8630 Snowden River Parkway in Columbia Crossing II (next to the Red Robin Restaurant). The new branch is designed in SECU’s new, modern style and features remote teller stations, kiosk online banking, and imaging ATMs.

SECU’s Columbia Branch previously was located on Cloudleap Court in the Long Reach Village Center.

“With more and more people recognizing that SECU offers a different direction and a better way of managing their finances, we needed a larger, state-of-the-art facility in Columbia to handle our growing customer base,” says Rod Staatz, SECU’s President and Chief Executive Officer.

Staatz adds, “SECU remains fully committed to making a meaningful difference in the financial well-being of those in our communities, here in Howard County and across the State of Maryland.” SECU currently has 19 branches and 94 ATM locations throughout Maryland, and also provides surcharge-free access to CO-OP and Allpoint ATMs.

SECU also recently announced that it is continuing to hire new employees. The credit union hired 136 new employees in 2010, including 52 in the fourth quarter, and currently has approximately 30 positions available.

“SECU is growing. Many of our openings are positions in branches located throughout Maryland, although we have Call Center and headquarters positions also available,” explains Staatz. For 2011, Staatz says SECU will focus on attracting top talent, as well as engaging and developing current employees.

Although it is now open for business, SECU plans to “officially” open its new branch location in Columbia on Saturday, April 2 with a Ribbon Cutting ceremony and special events throughout the week. The general public will be invited to learn about the SECU difference, products and services – what makes SECU better than a bank!

Branch hours for SECU’s Columbia Branch are 9 a.m. – 4 p.m. Monday through Thursday, 9 a.m. – 6 p.m. on Fridays, and 9 a.m. – 1 p.m. on Saturdays. The drive-up window will be open Monday through Friday 9 a.m. – 6 p.m. and Saturday 9 a.m. – 1 p.m.
