Belmont Manor & Historic Park In Howard County Receives Award

HOWARD COUNTY, MD — For the third time in four years, Howard County's Belmont Manor and Historic Park has been named a WeddingWire 2022 Couples’ Choice Award winner. The county recreation and parks department facility wasn't recognized in 2021 due to COVID-19 restrictions.

“This recognition is a testament to our department of recreation and parks’ hard work, customer service and attention to detail,” Howard County Executive Calvin Ball said. “The park maintenance staff continues to restore and maintain the property while the events staff ensures that the public may enjoy it for weddings, meetings, classes, camps and other special events.”

First recognized in 2019, this award showcases Belmont’s "continued commitment to offering excellence in quality, service, responsiveness and professionalism" to couples planning their wedding. Winners of this annual award are determined by reviews left by more than one million WeddingWire couples within its vendor directory across more than 20 service categories.

“My department prides itself on excellent customer service and this award demonstrates that commitment,” Howard County Director of Recreation & Parks A. Raul Delerme said. “We have a dedicated staff at this site that maintains this picturesque property and is continuously receiving accolades on their interactions with both clients and vendors.”

Located at 6555 Belmont Woods Road in Elkridge and nestled on 68 acres of rolling green hills, Belmont features a tree-lined driveway, decorated Manor House and pristine formal gardens. The Manor House was built in 1738 and was a private home until 1962. It is one of the oldest colonial buildings remaining in Howard County and is listed on the U.S. National Register of Historic Places. In 2012, the county purchased the estate to ensure the property remained in the public trust. Belmont now hosts weddings, meetings and other special events.
