Bridge Repair Project To Close Road Shoulder

Drivers should be aware that a bridge maintenance project starting next week will require the closure of a road's shoulder.

COLUMBIA, MD — Drivers should be aware of a construction project starting Jan. 26 that will require the shoulder of Murray Hill Road to close.

The project calls for preventative bridge maintenance on Guilford Road over the Little Patuxent River near Murray Hill Road in Columbia. The project includes cleaning debris around the south end of the bridge and placing ripraps to stabilize the embankment slope.

Weather permitting, the project should wrap up by early March.

Signs will be posted to alert drivers and residents of the work, since the right shoulder on Murray Hill Road near its intersection with Guilford Road will be closed during normal working hours, Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., to serve as a staging area for the project.
