Brush Fire Spreads Across Half-Acre In Howard County: Fire Officials
Howard County first responders said utility pole caused the blaze.

HOWARD COUNTY, MD — A brush fire spread across 0.5 acre of land in western Howard County Thursday afternoon, according to fire officials.
Shortly after 2 p.m., the Howard County Department of Fire and Rescue Services reported the brush fire in Dayton was under control.
The blaze began in the 13000 block of Hallowell Court when a power line fell, officials said.

By 2:30 p.m., authorities reported the fire was out and BGE secured the scene.
Due to the combination of windy conditions and low moisture in the air, the National Weather Service issued a special weather statement advising that fires may spread rapidly Thursday afternoon.
