Building Evacuated in Jessup for Fire Investigation, HoCo Officials Say
Howard County Department of Fire and Rescue Services said building included retail, apartments.

Fire broke out at a building in Jessup Wednesday afternoon that contained both apartments and retail, according to the Howard County Department of Fire and Rescue Services.
The building in the 8100 block of Washington Boulevard was temporarily evacuated so first responders could investigate, the department reported.
When firefighters arrived before 4:15 p.m., there was light smoke showing, according to the report.

Preliminary information indicated there was a fire on the third-floor deck attached to an apartment, according to the report.
By 4:17 p.m., the department said the fire was under control and had been extinguished.

As of 4:26 p.m., officials said crews were clearing the scene, where no injuries were reported.
