Columbia Artist's Work Chosen For New Lotto Ticket

A Howard County resident is one of four artists whose creation was chosen for the Maryland Lottery's new Maryland Treasure ticket.

COLUMBIA, MD — An artist from Howard County will be part of an art exhibit with a Maryland Lottery twist Saturday at the Home and Garden Show in Timonium.

The exhibit will display artwork produced by the four winners of the Maryland Treasures Art Contest, which launched last summer. Marylanders 18 and older submitted original artwork that incorporated elements of the state’s history, culture, traditions or landmarks. Each artist could submit up to five pieces for consideration.

More than 700 people combined to send nearly 2,200 pieces of art for the new lotto ticket. A panel of lottery staff selected the final four illustrations that best connected with the Maryland Treasures theme.
