Columbia Association Launches New Membership Structure On May 1
These membership plans provide better, more desirable options for members and residents, according to the Columbia Association.

Columbia Association (CA) will launch a new membership structure on May 1, offering membership plans that provide better, more desirable options for members and residents. CA’s membership structure had gone largely unchanged since the 1980s, when the Package Plan Plus and Package Plan memberships brought a novel way of packaging the amenities that CA provides to the community.
The new membership plans are:
- CA Fit&Play offers the most variety and value for you and your family. It provides access to all three fitness clubs and everything in them (all fitness equipment and non-fee group fitness classes), as well as all 23 outdoor pools; Columbia Swim Center with SplashDown; Columbia SportsPark and SkatePark; Columbia Ice Rink; all outdoor and indoor tennis courts (additional fees for indoor); discounted green fees; and two electronic passes for guest visits per member per month.
- 1Fit offers access to one fitness club — choose between Columbia Athletic Club, Columbia Gym and Supreme Sports Club — and all of the fitness equipment and non-fee group fitness classes in it, plus one electronic pass for one guest visit per member per month.
- Play offers access to all 23 outdoor pools; Columbia Swim Center with SplashDown; Columbia SportsPark and SkatePark; Columbia Ice Rink; all outdoor and indoor tennis courts (additional fees for indoor); and one electronic pass for one guest visit per member per month.
- 5Day Golf&Play offers access to the award-winning Hobbit’s Glen Golf Club as well as Fairway Hills Golf Club, with eight-day advance registrations, unlimited green fees on weekdays at Hobbit’s Glen Golf Club and every day at Fairway Hills Golf Club, and handicap fees; plus access to all 23 outdoor pools; Columbia Swim Center with SplashDown; Columbia SportsPark and SkatePark; Columbia Ice Rink; all outdoor and indoor tennis courts (additional fees for indoor); and one electronic pass for one guest visit per member per month.
- 7Day Golf provides access to the award-winning Hobbit’s Glen Golf Club as well as Fairway Hills Golf Club, with eight-day advance registrations, unlimited green fees every day of the week at both clubs, handicap fees, and one electronic pass for one guest visit per member per month.
- Golf Fit&Play offers all the benefits of a 7Day Golf membership and a CA Fit&Play membership, plus more: access to the award-winning Hobbit’s Glen Golf Club as well as Fairway Hills Golf Club, with eight-day advance registrations, unlimited green fees every day of the week, and handicap fees; access to all three fitness clubs and everything in them (all fitness equipment and non-fee group fitness classes), plus all 23 outdoor pools; Columbia Swim Center with SplashDown; Columbia SportsPark and SkatePark; Columbia Ice Rink; all outdoor and indoor tennis courts (additional fees for indoor); free KidSpace services; and two electronic passes for guest visits per member per month.
Current members will not need to do anything. Their membership will simply transition on May 1 to the new plan that most closely mirrors their current plan. Members who are in a current contract will see no rate changes until their normal contract renewal date. For example, someone whose contract renewal does not take place until November would not have any rate adjustment until that time. Members who hold a month-to-month membership plan will see an annual increase in May, when annual increases go into effect.

This new membership structure followed a 24-month analysis led by CA’s Board of Directors, CA’s leadership team and a consultant firm. Research identified what options residents would prefer and CA worked to create a new, simpler membership structure that would best meet their needs and wants. The intent of the restructure was to add value for CA members.
Columbia Association has released information about the restructure through various media platforms for several months. Those who still have questions are welcome to speak with a representative from CA’s Customer and Member Service Center. Representatives can be reached at 410-730-1801 or in-person — the Customer and Member Service Center is located at 6310 Hillside Court and is open Monday-Friday from 9am-6pm, and Saturday from 9am-4pm. Customers seeking to sign up for one of the new membership plans will be able to do so on May 1 by visiting ColumbiaAssociation.org/membership/buy-a-membership.
