Columbia Bocce Ball Courts Ribbon Cutting Planned
Howard County, Special Olympics representatives will attend the public ribbon cutting, scheduled at 11 a.m. July 24.
COLUMBIA, MD — Howard County officials will come together Wednesday to host a ribbon cutting for four new synthetic-turf bocce courts located in Columbia’s Cedar Lane Park. The ribbon cutting will start at 11 a.m.
Located at 5081 Cedar Lane in Columbia, the new courts will be home to the Special Olympics Howard County bocce league. When not reserved, the courts will be open to the public during normal park hours. The project was made possible through capital projects funding, which will also finance renovation of Cedar Lane’s parking lot and the addition of several ADA-compliant parking spaces near the new courts.
Howard County Executive Calvin Ball will attend the ribbon cutting. He will be joined by Raul Delerme, the newly-appointed director of Howard County Recreation & Parks; Bob Baker, director of Special Olympics Maryland Howard County; Clarence Lam, state senator for District 12; and Terri Hill, delegate for District 12.
