COLUMBIA, MD — Bocce players, rejoice — four new bocce courts at Columbia’s Cedar Lane Park are officially open to the public. A ribbon cutting was held Wednesday to celebrate the completion of the synthetic-turf courts.
Located at 5081 Cedar Lane, the new courts will be home to the Special Olympics Howard County bocce league. When not reserved, the courts will be open to the public during normal park hours of 7 a.m. until dusk, or as posted. To check on court availability, residents are encouraged to call 410-313-4626.
Howard County Executive Calvin Ball attended the ribbon cutting. He was joined by Raul Delerme, the newly-appointed director of Howard County Recreation & Parks; Bob Baker, director of Special Olympics Maryland Howard County; and other elected officials.
