Columbia Fly-Fishing Business To Sell Lures Across The Country

COLUMBIA, MD — A specialty fly shop offering lures for fly fishermen and ultra-lite anglers has roots in Columbia but will be opening up an online shop soon. Company owner Sean Beck shared that he has taken a "big step" in launching an online store for his business Patuxent Signature Flies.

Beck noted on his website that he began tying in 2017 and now focuses primarily on subsurface patterns for brown trout, smallmouth bass, snakehead and various panfish.

"I'm just a guy who likes making bugs," he posted.

So far, the most popular flies he sells are from his Euro Nymphing collection, specifically the Euro Leader.

“Ever since I was young I have been hooked on fly fishing. There is just something special about the feeling you get when you have a decent size fish on the end of an ultra-lite pole line. It’s a more satisfying fishing experience than any other fishing style that I have tried. Fly fishing can also be very frustrating if you do not have the proper lures to attract the bigger fish with. After having some success with my homemade flies, I started to make them available for sale and now we have taken that a big step further with our new online store," Beck stated in a press release.
