Columbia Homicide Investigation Follows Apartment Discovery
After officers showed up to a Columbia apartment and found one person dead and another injured, a homicide investigation is underway.
COLUMBIA, MD — Police said a woman was found dead and a man injured in an apartment in Columbia on Sunday night. A homicide investigation is underway.
Officials said they found the 36-year-old woman deceased and a 42-year-old man suffering from significant injuries Sunday evening when they were called to check on the welfare of those inside.
Concerned family members had called 911 to ask officers to check on the residence in the 8800 block of Spiral Cut at 5:43 p.m. on Sunday, May 5, according to police.

The man was taken to the University of Maryland Shock Trauma Center for treatment of injuries that police said were "undetermined."
Officials did not release the identity of the victims. The investigation is ongoing.
