Columbia House Fire Displaces 6 People: Officials
Flames were through the roof at the two-story home Monday night, according to the Howard County Department of Fire and Rescue Services.
Six people were displaced as the result of a fire overnight in Columbia, according to the Howard County Department of Fire and Rescue Services.
After 11:30 p.m. Monday, firefighters responded to the 4900 block of Canvasback Drive for a report of a house fire, according to the department.
Crews found smoke showing through the roof of a two-story house when they arrived and called for backup; more than 50 firefighters responded, the department reported.

Five adults and a child had evacuated on their own, and the Red Cross was assisting them, officials said Tuesday.
There were no injuries as a result of the fire, the cause of which remains under investigation, according to officials.
