Columbia New Year's Events Guide 2018

Still firming up end-of-the-year plans? Here are some things to do on New Year's Eve and New Year's Day in Columbia.

COLUMBIA, MD — There is something to do for everyone on New Year's Eve and New Year's Day in Columbia. Parties, yoga, trampoline jumping, dinner theatre and other activities are planned.

Black Flag Brewing Company invites those over 21 to "pre-game" from noon to 7 p.m. There will be a 2:30 p.m. yoga class with childcare. Special beers will be on tap, with the opportunity to take growlers home.

Clyde's of Columbia hosts its annual New Year's Eve party from 10 p.m.-2 a.m. Tickets are $100 to the black-tie cocktail party, which includes DJs, heavy hors d'oeuvres, open bar, champagne toast, party favors and a photo booth.

Midnight At 7 takes place from 5 to 8 p.m. on Sunday, Dec. 31. Celebrate the New Year well before midnight with fireworks at Symphony of Lights, located at the intersection of Broken Land Parkway and Hickory Ridge Road. Gates open at 5 p.m., fireworks are at 7 p.m. (weather permitting), and the last admission will be at 7:30 p.m. People can walk through the lights display, and there will be party favors, food vendors and face painting. Tickets are free for those 4 years and younger and $15 for general admission. The event will go on, regardless of the weather.

Petit Louis will offer a multi-course menu for $79 (price is $109 with wine). Live French music starts at 8 p.m. A champagne toast will be held at midnight. Party favors are included. Call 410-964-9999 for reservations.

Sky Zone Columbia is ringing in the new year early with a 10 a.m.-1 p.m. jump session. Tickets are $15 per child and $20 per adult.

Symphony of Lights will be open on New Year's Day from 5:30-10 p.m. Drive through the light display, located at the intersection of Broken Land Parkway and Hickory Ridge Road.

Toby's Dinner Theatre presents its New Year's Eve performance of "Miracle on 34th Street." Tickets are $110 and include the show, dinner, champagne toast and breakfast buffet.

Victoria Gastro Pub will have a special menu in addition to regular offerings on New Year's Eve plus a champagne toast and New Year's brunch.

Where to catch it: ABC starting at 8 p.m.
Why you should watch: Remember last year's infamous Mariah Carey mic incident? Yes, it happened on Seacrest's watch. So if that's any indication, this could be a good one to tune in to. And even if there aren't any crazy celebrity snafus, you can count on inside views of Time Square packed with people, as well as awesome musical performances.

"New Year's Eve Live" With Anderson Cooper And Andy Cohen
Where to catch it: CNN starting at 8 p.m.
Why you should watch: For the first time ever, Anderson Cooper will host CNN's annual New Year's Eve Live special with none other than "Watch What Happens Live" host Andy Cohen. As these two are best friends in real life, you can expect tons witty banter and hilarious moments from the pair.
