Columbia Teen Charged In OC Liquor Store Stabbing: Report

After a man was stabbed in an Ocean City beer and wine store, a Columbia teen is reportedly behind bars.

COLUMBIA, MD — Police reportedly identified a Columbia teen as the suspect in an Ocean City liquor store assault based on his distinctive boxers and pants recently.

Wimot Hage, 19, of Columbia, told police that someone had knocked out his friend, so he and two others pursued the perpetrator into a liquor store and attacked him, Ocean City newspaper The Dispatch reported.

The store clerk used his cell phone to capture images of the three suspects, including one wearing cheetah print boxers, which helped police in the area to find the teen, who also had blood spattered on his pants when he confessed, The Dispatch reported.

An Ocean City police officer on patrol located Hage in the area of Ninth Street and Baltimore Street a few hours after the June 9 stabbing, according to Ocean City Today. Hage admitted to assaulting the victim in the store but did not admit to stabbing him.

Court records show Hage was charged with first and second-degree assault, reckless endangerment, disorderly conduct and destruction of property, since items in the beer and wine store were damaged in the fight.
