Columbia Under Freezing Rain Advisory

Drivers in Columbia should be extra careful Monday, as there is a freezing rain advisory in effect until 6 p.m.

A freezing rain advisory means that periods of freezing rain may cause travel difficulties, according to the National Weather Service, which advised roads may be slippery and drivers should slow down.

The freezing rain is projected to start sometime between 9 and 11 a.m. and continue throughout the day, according to the National Weather Service.

Included in the freezing rain advisory are northwest, central and southeast Howard County; Anne Arundel and Prince George’s counties; northwest, central and southeastern Montgomery County; as well as the District of Columbia and parts of Virginia.

The high in Columbia on Monday is 35 degrees, according to the forecast from the National Weather Service.
