Columbia Weekend: Halloween Among The Trees

COLUMBIA, MD — This weekend, the Robinson Nature Center will transform on Saturday, Oct. 20, into a Halloween extravaganza. There will be Halloween crafts, a pumpkin patch, maze, scavenger hunt, puppet show and more. Also on our calendar: Luther the wolf ambassador will be at the Patuxent Research Refuge for a presentation on wolf life, a farm-brewed beer festival is happening in Ellicott City and more.

Historic Ellicott City Decorator Show House

Come and marvel at Wilderness Farm, the 20th-century farmhouse selected for the 2018 Historic Ellicott City Decorators Show House. Since 1987, local decorators have been invited to design individual rooms in grand estates across Howard County, in order to preserve the homes beauty and legacy for years to come. This year, 13 designers will decorate 20 rooms and spaces in Wilderness Farm, drawing inspiration from the history of the home and their own imaginations.

Homecoming Festival at Oakland Mills High School

Friday, October 19, from 5:00 pm to 6:50 pm

The Homecoming Festival will include Oakland Mills vendors and booths, with cotton candy and other treats for sale. This is an open event and all ages are welcome.

Long Reach Homecoming Parade

Saturday, October 20, from 9:00 am to 9:45 am

The parade begins in the high school's parking lot, turns right on Old Dobbin Lane then left onto Tamar Drive to Hayshed Lane and Stonecutter Road to Long Reach High School from Tamar Drive.


Live Wolf at Patuxent

Saturday, October 20 at 10:00 am
