Rep Stage, the professional regional theatre in residence at Howard Community College (HCC), opens its 26th season with Sweeney Todd: The Demon Barber of Fleet Street, directed and choreographed by Joseph W. Ritsch with music direction by Stacey Antoine. Set in modern-day East London, this production of the Stephen Sondheim and Hugh Wheeler Tony Award-winning musical thriller features a diverse ensemble of eight and a chamber orchestra of keyboard, violin, and woodwinds.

Howard Community College Presents "Cinderella! Cinderella!"

Saturday, September 8 at 2:30 pm

The Howard Community College (HCC) Theatre Program presents Edith Weiss Cinderella! Cinderella!, a childrens theatre production suitable for audiences of all ages. Directed by Grace Anastasiadis, Cinderella! Cinderella! will feature current HCC students and guest artists, who will bring this wonderful play to life September 8, 9, and 14. Performances will take place in HCCs Smith Theatre, located within the Horowitz Visual and Performing Arts Center (HVPA).

Voices for Autism will be hosting a benefit concert featuring The B Street Band, which is the original Bruce Springsteen tribute band. Our event will be held on September 8, 2018 at Bethesda Blues and Jazz Club in Bethesda, MD. Ticket prices include the concert, dinner stations, dessert, an open bar and both a silent and live auction. Grandparents Day at Robinson Nature Center

Sunday, September 9 at 12:00 pm

In honor of National Grandparent's Day, celebrate at the Robinson Nature Center. We'll have full-dome movies in our planetarium, roving animal presentations, outdoor walks and educational activities throughout the exhibits. Complimentary admission for one grandchild per one paid admission for a grandparent. Activities are included with admission.

All ages, $5 per adult, $3 per child (age 3-17), Under 3 is free. No registration required

Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction 8 Week Course

The course being offered is the original 8 week Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction program created by Dr. Jon Kabat-Zinn of the UMass Medical School's Center for Mindfulness in Medicine, Health Care and Society in 1979. There are 8 classes beginning Monday September 10 - October 29 (6:00pm - 8:30pm), and one retreat day on Sat. October 20th, which will be from 8:30 am to 3:30 pm (location TBD).
