Columbia Woman Competing On 'Big Brother'
The new season of "Big Brother" will feature a mother of three from Columbia.
COLUMBIA, MD — A woman from Columbia who says her alias is "Rockstar" will be on the new season of "Big Brother" debuting on Wednesday. The reality TV show, which is broadcast on CBS, puts 16 strangers together in a house. Each week, they have to vote one person out, and the last one remaining wins $500,000.
Angie "Rockstar" Lantry, 34, who lives in Columbia and is a stay-at-home mom, said that her mother is a "super fan" of the show and told her repeatedly she should audition to be on it.
Once she watched it, Lantry admitted she felt "some sort of a way" about her mom's observation so called her and said: "Excuse me, but exactly what part of this shady show did you think that I was gonna be perfect for?"

Her mom told her she's a "character" but also a "real person," Lantry told Entertainment Tonight (ET).
"...I'm a mom but I'm also like a retired party girl," she told ET.

Lantry, who has colorful hair and describes herself as magical, said when she was younger, her mom told her that she and her friends partied like rockstars when they came home late. The name "Rockstar" stuck, and it has carried over into the lives of her children.
She said she put the name "Rockstar" on her kids' birth certificates so they are "born rock stars."
Her youngest was born on Dec. 26, and she told ET that she held him inside as long as she could so her two other children could have Christmas and not feel like their new sibling had robbed them of the holiday.
All of her kids have been natural births, according to her "Big Brother" profile, which also said she was walked down the aisle by a unicorn. She said if she could get through childbirth without an epidural, she is confident she can rise to the challenge of some of the endurance competitions that are part of "Big Brother."
As a former night club manager, she said she will use her professional background to size up the characters. She also mentioned that she had a talk with her kids before appearing on the show to make sure they knew it was a game and not OK to lie in real life.
The show is filmed for 90 days in Studio City, California.
While she's away, Lantry said she's going to miss her mom, who is her best friend, and her partner, Chris, as well as her kids, but told CBS the opportunity is a "life experience that is just out of this world."
She said she hopes to win the $500,000 to buy a house, buy a boat for her man and take her kids to Disney.
The 20th season of "Big Brother" will debut at 8 p.m. on Wednesday, June 27, on CBS.
