Confirmed Coronavirus Case Total In Howard County Reaches 20,226

HOWARD COUNTY, MD — As of Monday, Howard County has a total of 20,226 positive new coronavirus cases and 257 deaths, according to the Howard County Health Department. The state has 480,718 confirmed cases and 9,675 deaths total, reports the Maryland Department of Health.

The following zip codes have the highest confirmed case counts in Howard County as of Aug. 16:

• 21043 - 2,768 confirmed cases
• 21044 - 2,716 confirmed cases
• 21045 - 2,628 confirmed cases
• 20723 - 2,514 confirmed cases
• 21075 - 2,500 confirmed cases

The CDC advises doing the following to stop the spread of the virus:

• Wash your hands often with soap and water for at least 20 seconds. If this is not available, use hand sanitizer that is at least 60 percent alcohol.

• Stay home when you are sick.
