Confirmed Coronavirus Case Total In Howard County Reaches 20,489

HOWARD COUNTY, MD — As of Monday, Howard County has a total of 20,489 positive new coronavirus cases and 259 deaths, according to the Howard County Health Department. The state has 487,893 confirmed cases and 9,726 deaths total, reports the Maryland Department of Health.

The following zip codes have the highest confirmed case counts in Howard County as of Aug. 23:

• 21043 - 2,816 confirmed cases
• 21044 - 2,739 confirmed cases
• 21045 - 2,660 confirmed cases
• 21075 - 2,540 confirmed cases
• 20723 - 2,539 confirmed cases

The CDC advises doing the following to stop the spread of the virus:

• Wash your hands often with soap and water for at least 20 seconds. If this is not available, use hand sanitizer that is at least 60 percent alcohol.

• Keep 6 feet of space between people.
• Stay home when you are sick.
