Construction Project In Kings Contrivance To Begin

The stormwater management project in Kings Contrivance is expected to be complete by early January 2019.

From HoCo: A Howard County construction project to repair a storm water management pond near Eden Brook Drive and Copperwood Way in Columbia’s Village of Kings Contrivance is expected to begin on or about Monday, September 17.

The project will include installation of a concrete riser structure and trash rack, as well as a series of rock step-pool structures at the outfall to mitigate stream erosion. The spillway pipe will be lined to protect the pipe from corrosion and an emergency spillway will also be constructed. Weather permitting, the project is expected to be completed by early January 2019.

The project is not expected to impact the flow of traffic. However, the sidewalk along Eden Brook Drive adjacent to the project site will be closed during construction. Signs will be posted at the project site to advise motorists and pedestrians of the construction and sidewalk closure.
