Cooling Centers Open As Heat Blankets Howard County

HOWARD COUNTY, MD — A heat advisory has been issued by the National Weather Service for Howard County, which runs from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. Wednesday.

The heat index could reach up to 105 degrees, the NWS stated.

Anyone needing a place to stay cool during the heat advisory can stop by one of Howard County's designated cooling centers during normal operating hours, which include Department of Recreation & Parks' (DRP) three community centers, the Department of Community Resources and Services (DCRS) 50+ centers and one of Howard County Library System (HCLS) branches.
