Dobbin Road Golf Cart Thief Picks Up 4 Charges: Police

Police said a Columbia man stole a golf cart on Dobbin Road and caused a crash before getting arrested.

COLUMBIA, MD — A Columbia man has been charged with the unlawful taking of a motor vehicle after a golf cart was stolen on Dobbin Road. Police said the golf cart disappeared from a business in the area.

Authorities were dispatched to the 6400 block of Dobbin Road for a report of a stolen golf cart.

After making a getaway, police said the thief crashed into another vehicle, then continued on in the golf cart.

Officers said they found the golf cart and the suspect in a fenced-in area at a nearby business at 3:21 p.m. on April 6.

Kyle Devan Colliver, 22, of the 6500 block of Overheart Lane, was charged with unlawful taking of a motor vehicle, fourth-degree burglary and two counts of trespassing. His bail was set Monday at $25,000, court records show. He was being held at the Howard County Detention Center.

Colliver is slated to appear in Howard County District Court on June 22.
