Dog Saved From Columbia Townhouse Fire, 3 Displaced: Officials
Firefighters gave thanks for the donation of pet oxygen masks to Howard County after a fire in Columbia on Thanksgiving.

COLUMBIA, MD ā Three people were displaced after a kitchen fire in Columbia on Thanksgiving, according to officials. Nobody was injured in the blaze, but a small dog was rescued and taken to an emergency vet, the Howard County Department of Fire and Rescue Services reported.
The fire occurred in the 10000 block of College Square in Columbia before 9:30 a.m. on Thursday, Nov. 22, officials said.
Flames from the stove spread through the kitchen to the dining room, according to fire officials.

The small dog rescued from the blaze was taken to a local emergency vet, where the pet was in stable condition, officials reported.
The Red Cross was assisting the people who lived in the residence after the fire.

The Howard County Department of Fire and Rescue Services noted that crews were able to provide first aid to the dog thanks to the donation of pet oxygen masks.
