Downtown Columbia Partnership Head Gives Update at Vantage Point

Phillip Dodge will discuss upcoming development and arts and entertainment planned for Downtown Columbia

Phillip Dodge, Executive Director of the Downtown Columbia Partnership (DTCP), is the next presenter in the Vantage Point Arts & Culture Collective series on Monday, August 19, 7-8 p.m., in the retirement community’s auditorium.

In his presentation, “Our Town Update,” Dodge will discuss the status of upcoming development and arts and entertainment planned for Downtown Downtown. Dodge will also discuss the role of the DTCP in leading the promotion and advancing the growth of Downtown Columbia as a vibrant, economically robust and desirable place for employment, entertainment, living and learning.

Dodge has a background in development, communications, marketing, and non-profit leadership and has held positions at the Community Action Council of Howard County, Healthy Howard, and the National Center for Healthy Housing. Dodge chairs the Friends & Foundation of the Howard County Library System and was recently appointed to the Library Board of Trustees. Dodge also serves on the board of the Columbia Patuxent Rotary Club’s Charitable Trust. He resides in Columbia with his wife, Alison and two daughters.

The Arts & Culture Collective is presenting a series of programs at the Residences at Vantage Point, as well as excursions to arts and cultural events taking place elsewhere in the community, to highlight Columbia as the “campus” for residents of the retirement community. Partnerships with local institutions have made the series possible.

There is no admission fee for the program, but reservations are required at stewartk@vantagehouse.org.

Residences at Vantage Point was founded in 1990 and is a nonprofit serving people age 60 and above. Managed by Life Care Services, the community includes a variety of residential living arrangements and provides long-term health services exclusively for residents should they need them. Residences at Vantage Point is located at 5400 Vantage Point Road in Downtown Columbia.
