CNSL All-City Championship meet

After eight weeks of swim meets, and after hundreds and thousands of yards and countless strokes through the water, Columbia’s neighborhood swimmers will come together over the span of two days for the finale — a championship meet.

The All City Championship Meet will be held on Friday, July 27, and Saturday, July 28, at the Phelps Luck Pool in Long Reach, located at 5355 Phelps Luck Drive.

The Columbia Neighborhood Swim League, which includes 14 teams, is a recreational summer league for youth in Columbia and the surrounding Howard County area. Swimmers range in age from three to 18 and range in ability from novice swimmers to those who participate on the national stage.

No matter their age or ability, swimmers are able to participate in five dual meets and the season championship meet.

The All City Championship Meet will be broken up into three sessions: swimmers age eight and younger will compete beginning at 5:30 p.m. on July 27 (warm-ups begin at 4:30 p.m.); swimmers between the ages of 13 and 18 will compete beginning at 9 a.m. on July 28 (warm-ups begin at 8 a.m.); and swimmers between the ages of 9 and 12 will compete beginning at 1 p.m. on July 28 (warm-ups begin at noon).

The meet is for all CNSL swimmers that meet the eligibility rules listed here. For each event, swimmers are divided into two or three divisions (A, B, C) based on their best time for the stroke, and first through 10th place receive awards in each division, not overall. An awards podium is available for picture opportunities.

All CNSL swimmers are encouraged to attend. Last year, nearly 1,200 participated, the largest turnout ever. For more information about CNSL, visitcnslswimming.org.
