'Evening In The Stacks' Library Fundraiser Rescheduled To May Due To COVID Surge

The Howard County Library System's annual Evening in the Stacks fundraiser has been bumped to May due to the latest COVID surge.

HOWARD COUNTY, MD — The Howard County Library System has rescheduled its annual fundraiser, Evening in the Stacks, to Saturday, May 14, due to the recent surge in COVID-19 cases related to the spread of the omicron variant and out of an abundance of caution for its guests and staff, the library stated.

The 2022 edition of the event will mark the return to an in-person celebration after last year’s
fundraiser was held virtually. The location will be announced soon.

After the Italian-themed 2021 event, this year's theme will be Across Africa, celebrating the continent from the Mediterranean coast and the Nile in the north to the cities, grasslands and deserts in central Africa to the rainforests of the south. The event will feature music, entertainment, food and drink related to the theme. A virtual author event will be held in the days leading up to the in-person event.
