Fatal Shooting in Jessup: Police [UPDATED]
One person was killed and another injured, according to police.

JESSUP, MD - One man was killed in a shooting in Jessup Sunday, according to Howard County Police. A second person has been injured and taken to the hospital.
The shooting occurred around 1 p.m. in the 7400 block of Assateague Drive. The injured victim, identified as a 57-year-old male from Baltimore, was transported to shock trauma in critical condition. His condition has since been upgraded to stable. Police have not identified the man killed in the shooting.
Police said it appears to be an isolated incident. An unknown suspect is at large and police brought in patrol officers, K-9 units and aviation. The suspect is described as an Asian male wearing blue jeans and a blue jacket but is not believed to be in the area.Ā

Police shut down Route 1 in the Jessup area near Route 175 while they investigated but later said primary roads in the vicinity had reopened.
