Fire at Extended Stay Columbia Traced to Laundry Room: HoCo Officials

Howard County firefighters were called to put out a blaze at the hotel in Columbia Corporate Park Friday night.

COLUMBIA, MD — Firefighters responded to a blaze at the Extended Stay America in Columbia Friday night, officials said.

After 10:30 p.m., the Howard County Department of Fire and Rescue Services reported that crews were in the 8800 block of Stanford Boulevard for a fire. They found smoke on the second story and extinguished a fire in the dryer of the second-floor laundry room, officials said.

Everyone in the building was evacuated, and all were allowed to return to their rooms, according to authorities, who reported there were no injuries.
