The First Tee of Howard County Opens Spring 2017 Registration

Unique golf and life skills classes begin April 21 for children ages 5-18 at three local golf courses.

Enrollment is now open for spring classes at The First Tee of Howard County, which offer an introduction to the game of golf for local youth, with an emphasis on the life skills and values that are core to the sport.

Classes run for eight weeks and are 60, 90 or 120 minutes per class, depending on student level. Most classes are held at Fairway Hills Golf course in Columbia, and some are also offered at Hobbits Glen and Willow Springs. Clubs are provided, if needed. Registration is online at www.thefirstteehowardcounty.org or can be done in person at The First Tee Howard County, 5100 Columbia Road, Columbia Maryland, 21044. Fees range from $60 to $150, depending upon student level.

The First Tee of Howard County is one of the county’s premier youth organizations and has been nationally ranked in the top two percent among First Tee chapters. Its mission is to impact the lives of young people by providing educational programs that build character, instill life-enhancing values and promote healthy choices through the game of golf. The First Tee reaches young people on golf courses, in elementary schools, in after school youth programs, and at military installations.
