Flood Warning Issued For Two Counties
BREAKING: Up to 3 inches of rain may fall before the end of the warning period Wednesday evening, weather officials warn.

HOWARD COUNTY, MD — The National Weather Service has issued a flood warning for parts of Howard and Carroll counties. The warning is in effect until 11 p.m. on Wednesday, Sept. 12.
At 5:01 p.m., authorities said that radar showed heavy rains that would cause flooding in northwestern Howard and south central Carroll counties.
Between 1 and 2 inches of rain had fallen by that time, with an additional inch expected by the end of the warning period.

These locations may flood, according to the flood warning: Eldersburg, Sykesville, Poplar Springs, Roxbury Mills, Lisbon, Glenwood, Woodbine, Gaither and Watersville.
During a flood warning, drivers and pedestrians who come across roads covered with water of unknown depth should turn around; don't drown.

In particular, authorities ask people to be cautious at night, when it is harder to recognize hazardous situations.
