Former Howard County Executive Allan Kittleman Seeks Seat Again

Former Howard County Executive Allan Kittleman announced he will be running for county executive again, a position he has held in the past.

HOWARD COUNTY, MD — Former Howard County Executive Allan Kittleman announced Sept. 5 that he would be running for the office of county executive again. This will be his third run for this seat. In 2014, he beat Courtney Watson for the seat, but in 2018 for his re-election bid, he lost to current County Executive Calvin Ball.

Kittleman currently serves on the Maryland Workers' Compensation Commission and has been working with Fair Maps Maryland. Kittleman served as a state senator from 2004 to 2014, representing both Howard and Carroll counties, then functioned as Senate Minority Leader from 2008 to 2011. He also served on the Howard County Council from 1998 to 2004. Listen to his announcement.
