Oakland Mills Fourth Of July Parade Billed As 'Big'
A parade and refreshments are planned for July 4 in Oakland Mills.

COLUMBIA, MD ā The Oakland Mills Community Association is sponsoring a "BIG parade" this Fourth of July. The parade will be held the morning of Wednesday, July 4.
Organizers say neighbors will parade through Oakland Mills from the Oakland Mills Village Center at 10 a.m. to celebrate the holiday with festive flair. It is being billed as the Oakland Mills Fourth of July BIG Parade.
Afterward, the community is invited to light refreshments at The Other Barn.

The parade will line up at 9:45 a.m. on Wednesday, July 4. The big parade will begin at 10 a.m. at 5851 Robert Oliver Place in Columbia. Festivities are expected to last from 10 a.m. to noon.

While the weather will be steamy for parades, concerts and other July 4 fun, the Maryland weather forecast looks favorable for events to go off as planned. The National Weather Service says there is a 20 percent chance of isolated showers and thunderstorms after noon on Wednesday with a high near 92; it will feel like 100 degrees across much of the state. On Wednesday night the 20 percent chance of rain lingers, with isolated showers and storm before 3 a.m. and mostly cloudy skies.
