Free HCPSS Meals For Kids Extended Through Aug. 14

HOWARD COUNTY, MD — Children in Howard County will continue to receive free meals this summer through the Howard County Public School System. The 14 meal sites will serve grab-and-go summer meals weekdays July 1 through Aug. 14 from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Kids ages 18 and younger will be given both breakfast and lunch each day. Friday distributions at school-based locations only will include meals to sustain children through the weekend.

Meals will not be provided on Friday, July 3, in observance of the holiday. Weekend meals instead will be distributed Thursday, July 2, at school locations only. Children do not need to be present; parents/guardians may pick up meals for their child(ren). There is no application, enrollment or fees to participate in this program.

The existing procedures for meal pickup will be extended through the summer for families who may find it difficult to pick up meals for their children at the locations or times when meals are served.

The 14 meal sites to distribute grab-and-go meals are:

• Laurel Woods Elementary School, 9250 North Laurel Road, Laurel
• Longfellow Elementary School, 5470 Hesperus Dr, Columbia (new site)
• Oakland Mills Middle School, 9540 Kilimanjaro Road, Columbia
• Swansfield Elementary School, 5610 Cedar Lane, Columbia
• Wilde Lake Middle School, 10481 Cross Fox Lane, Columbia
