Rita's and Dairy Queen are offering free desserts on the first day of spring. Here's where to find them in Columbia.
COLUMBIA, MD — Rita's and Dairy Queen are both offering free treats to celebrate the start of spring. It's expected to be sunny with temperatures in the mid-50s, so you may be able to enjoy dessert outside.
Rita's will give away a free small Italian ice to all customers who stop by on Wednesday, March 20.
Around Columbia, there are a couple of Rita's locations, open from noon to 9 p.m.

Dairy Queen will also be handing out free small vanilla cones all day long at participating stores on Wednesday, March 20, in honor of the first day of spring.
The free cone deal will be offered at all non-mall locations, according to DQ.
The Dairy Queen stores closest to Columbia are at 2030 Liberty Road in Eldersburg and 140 Annapolis Road in Odenton.
