Vaccinate Your Pets At a Rabies Clinic Sept. 30 In Howard County

Howard County dogs, cats and ferrets can be vaccinated for rabies at the Howard County Animal Shelter Sept. 30.

HOWARD COUNTY, MD — The monthly rabies clinic held by the Howard County Health Department at Howard County Animal Control has been rescheduled to Sept. 30 from noon to 1:30 p.m., weather permitting.

The clinic offers rabies vaccinations for dogs, cats and ferrets. Pet owners can contact the health department at 410-313-1773 the day before the clinic to ensure it's still being held. The cost to pet owners is $5.

Pets must be at least 3 months old to receive a vaccination and be in a carrier or on a leash. Animals may be vaccinated with a 1- or 3-year vaccine based on prior vaccination history. A copy of previous vaccine history from a veterinarian must be provided. A county license for pets can be obtained at an additional charge. Proof of spay/neuter is required.
