Gun Violence Awareness Day, Wear Orange Weekend Kicks Off Friday At HoCo Courthouse

HOWARD COUNTY, MD —On Friday at 6 p.m., Moms Demand Action will join Howard County Executive Calvin Ball and other officials to recognize Gun Violence Awareness Day at the George Howard County, 3430 Courthouse Drive, in Ellicott City.

Ball also will present a proclamation declaring Wear Orange Weekend to honor the victims of gun violence.

“Every time we hear of another senseless shooting in a school, a place of worship, a home, or at a community gathering, my heart breaks a little more,” Ball said. “Every day, more and more innocent lives are taken and this is unacceptable. We must continue to do our part to ensure every person - in every corner of our community, our county, our state and our nation - should not only be safe, but feel safe.”
