Hidden Camera In Home's Bathroom Prompts Guilty Plea From Electrician

An electrician has pleaded guilty after his girlfriend found images from a camera he installed in a customer's bathroom.

HOWARD COUNTY, MD — A 35-year-old electrician has pleaded guilty in Howard County District Court to a charge of visual surveillance in a private area.

On Oct. 22, 2021, William Francis Healey Jr. of Finksburg was performing electrical work at a Columbia residence when he put a hidden camera under the bottom of a bathroom door in order to take images of the victim undressing and taking a shower. The victim never gave Healey permission to record or view her while showering or in any state of undress, the Howard County State's Attorney's Office disclosed.

The bathroom door was shut and locked while she showered. Healey’s fiancée discovered the images through a shared work email account and reported it to the authorities, the Howard County State's Attorney's Office noted.
