HoCo Disabilities Commission Wants Feedback

From HoCo: The Howard County Commission on Disabilities seeks public input to collect data and prepare a report for the County Executive and County Council regarding unmet needs and best practices in disability services in Howard County. Through a survey tool and a series of public and stakeholder meetings, the resulting report will focus specifically on the areas of education, peer relationships, employment, transportation, and housing with recommendations to support and facilitate full inclusion of persons with disabilities into the community.

The Commission invites input from individuals with disabilities, caregivers, education professionals, providers and other members of the public. Those interested in providing input are asked to complete and submit one of the online surveys at www.howardcountymd.gov/disabilitysurveys.

In addition to the online survey, the Commission will host a series of open public input meetings in the Fall of 2018. The first is a Howard County Accessible Transportation Forum on September 29, 2018 from 10 a.m. to Noon at the East Columbia Branch of the Howard County Library System at 6600 Cradlerock Way in Columbia.

The Commission is conducting this study pursuant to a council resolution (CR23-2018) enacted on March 5, 2018, under its statutory authority to advise the County Executive and County Council on disability matters.
